Training for Action: ‘Sustainable transport and how it affects quality of life and energy use, and its role in the fight against climate change’ (6pm, 15 Sep 2015)

In this first meeting, we’ll talk about sustainable transport and how it affects, among other things, quality of life and energy use, as well as its role in the fight against climate change. We will also do a brainstorm on actions that could be carried out on Park(ing) Day.

Trainer: Mariano Reaño, leader of the transport group for Amics de Terra Mallorca. Legal advisor and secretariat member of ConBici, co-founder and second spokesperson for Cliclojuristas.

Tuesday 15 September 2015, 6pm to 8.30pm at Amics de la Terra HQ (Avda. Comte Sallent 4, 1r A, Palma de Mallorca).

Friday 18 September, all day (morning and afternoon shifts). This week is transport week and this day specifically is Park(ing) Day. A protest day creating a more fun, pedestrian use of cities: fewer cars and more people!

Amics de la Terra has started a project that aims to develop critical thinking of the world and the role of our globalised society, and to develop active participation in environmental justice topics.

Specifically, we’ll create spaces for training, taking part, debate and defining actions on different environmental themes, how they affect us here and in other southern countries.

The Sustainability School is a European project developed by the various groups of Friends of the Earth Europe.

Anyone who wants to learn, contribute, take part, share it with other people, and so on.

  • The industrial agriculture model and responsible consumption (end of September)

  • COP21: communication for action (October – November)
