‘What is PV energy and how do the panels work?’ workshop photos (28 May and 3 June 2015)

On 28 May and 3 June, we held two workshops to learn about photovoltaic (PV) energy and how PV panels work. We also found out how to set up an installation right from the start, with the basic elements of a PV system. Afterwards, we calculated how many panels were needed to provide enough energy in each participant's own home. Many thanks to Master-D for giving us the space, and to the trainer, Alfonso Javier Morales, who's also an Amics de la Terra member.

Artisan bread course with traditional flours and fresh yeast

We had a lovely day at Es Puig d'Alanar finca, discovering the origin of flour and learning how to make bread. Throughout the day, we talked about the importance of the ingredients, such as wholemeal flour and fresh yeast, and the soil-friendly cultivation techniques used at the finca. Workshop on building a solar oven

We held a workshop with the volunteers on building a solar oven. Although it doesn't seem like it, it's hard work! Luckily, we had the guidance of Marc Ayats, an environmentalist who's spent years building and investigating the construction of homemade ovens in his free time. Bike ride in Palma (Sat 24 September 2011)

Amics de la Terra, as part of the Critical Mass Platform that's organised the activity, encourages you to take part in the bike ride on Saturday 24 September 2011 for: Meeting point: 10.30am, Plaza España to build up to setting off withTambores Por La Paz (Drums For Peace).
