We are organized in a platform to visit the Llucmajor Marina where they are wanting the fotovoltaic megapark to be built. The visit will be in the afternoon, with a biologist coming to tell us about the area. We will make a stop at the lighthouse in cap Blanc and on the property where they are wanting to put the park. Photos: forest and biomass clear-up, and reforestation at Son Honorat (31 Oct 2015)

A dozen Amics de la Terra members and volunteers carried out forest clear-up and reforestation tasks at Son Honorat in Algaida. The forest clear-up is a fire prevention measure and all the undergrowth that was taken away will be left to dry out to be later chipped and used as biomass. Sixty native trees were also planted to help regenerate the area. Care and maintenance of the trees to ensure their survival will be carried out by Son Honorat staff and regular volunteers. Around 20 Amics de la Terra members visited the Capvespre Centre at the Sóller Cooperative to find out firsthand about olive tree cultivation and olive and olive oil production. Afterwards, the group visited the nearby Ecovinyassa country estate, which grows organic citrus fruits, where the owner told the history of these fruits in the Sóller Valley and explained the challenges and advantages of growing them organically. Pep Lemon outing photos (30 May 2015)

On Saturday, we went to an Agroilla finca in Ariany to learn about how Pep Lemon lemonade (a 100% Mallorcan product) is created, made and sold. We helped to collect lemons, were shown hydroponic tomato crops and enjoyed a snack comprising local products and Pep Lemon drinks. Huge thanks to Carme, Gabrielle and Maria for showing us around!
