Composting helps us to reduce our rubbish by about 40 per cent. Nearly all organic waste is compostable and it helps us to enrich our soil, which then produces more and better fruit and vegetables. It’s a virtuous circle.
Now, you can talk about your relationship with compost on video for the chance to win 500 Euros! The organisation Zero Waste has announced a video competition on stories related to composting.
There are three categories: community composting experiences, most creative solutions and environmental education. There’s a prize of 500 Euros for the winner of each category. The three winning videos will also be published on Zero Waste’s YouTube channel.
To take part, you need to publish a video (maximum three minutes long) in hidden mode on YouTube before midnight (GMT) on 1 November 2015. It’s important that either the narration or the subtitles be in English.
The judging panel — made up of members of Zero Waste, the European Compost Network and The Organic Stream — will place greater weight on the relevance of each proposal or experience than on the technical or audiovisual quality of the video presented.
